Dr Deeley is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist with 20 years experience of supporting children, adolescents and adults within the NHS.
She also has specific expertise in chronic and terminal illness, bereavement, parenting issues and trauma. As a Consultant Clinical Psychologist working within children’s palliative care, Dr Deeley has a clear understanding of the impact of chronic health conditions on individuals and the people around them.
She has supported many parents and has built up understanding of the issues that affect an individual’s abilities to be an effective parent. She is able to support parents in gaining confidence in parenting skills for difficulties such as challenging behaviour, managing sibling relationships, sleep routines and feeding difficulties.
Dr Deeley is trained in the use of EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) and is a member of the European Association of EMDR. This evidence based therapy is particularly beneficial for those suffering with post traumatic stress disorder and those who have developed anxiety and phobias as a result of trauma. Dr Deeley uses a variety of therapeutic approaches gained including mindfulness, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), systemic therapy, narrative and solution focused therapies. She offers clinical supervision for other therapists, psychologists and counsellors. Dr Deeley has also completed the Institute of Leadership and Management Level 5 Performance Management Coaching and is able to offer coaching to individuals who realise they may not be reaching their full potential in their working environment.
