Dr Emma Bennett is a clinical psychologist with almost twenty-years experience working with children, adolescents & adults. Throughout this time she has worked for the NHS in child & adolescent mental health services (CAMHS), adult community mental health teams (CMHTS), hospitals (specialising in sexual health, cancer care & intensive care), specialist trauma & attachment services, & family therapy clinics. Most recently she was Head of Therapy at a specialist school for children with social, emotional & mental health difficulties; she has also been in private practice since 2016.

Emma focuses on creating a safe, confidential space, dedicated to listening without judgement & bringing warmth, gentleness & curiosity to the conversations that follow. As a clinical psychologist she is trained in many therapeutic models; more importantly, however, she is trained to understand you as a unique & valuable person who has likely already tried all sorts of way to solve any issues you face. She will make sure that your conversations are specifically tailored to you, rather than being restricted to one particular way of thinking.

Emma has post-doctoral qualifications in systemic psychotherapy (i.e. therapy focused on relationships, for example couple & family work). She is also trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing (EMDR) with children, adolescent & adults. This is a therapy focused on helping people reduce distress associated with difficult memories or experiences & trauma; she is a member of the European Association of EMDR.
