Tricia is a Clinical Psychologist who has worked for over twenty-five years with children, young people and their families within her role in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services in Somerset and Staffordshire.
She has worked in both in-patient and community settings, and also spent several years in a University research department, with a subsequent role offering psychological counselling to undergraduates.
For many years within the NHS Tricia’s work has been with children, adolescents and their families with a range of difficulties presenting to Community Mental Health Services. She has also worked as a specialist psychologist in a multidisciplinary team assessing Autistic Spectrum difficulties in young people.
More recently Tricia has developed her expertise working with children and their families who have experienced trauma. For this purpose she has trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), with additional specialist training on working with children in this modality. Tricia’s approach is systemic and integrative.
Tricia has had extensive experience in Family Therapy and also in the training and supervision of a range of professionals. She has lectured, mentored and supervised students on the Doctoral Clinical Psychology course at Exeter, Plymouth and Cardiff University.
