Therapeutic Approach
Scott is a clinical psychologist with over 10 years of working with children, young people, families, and adults. He has held several senior roles in the NHS, working in adult mental health, neurorehabilitation, paediatric neuropsychology, and child and adolescent mental health. He currently works in CAMHS Somerset as a Principal Clinical Psychologist, CAT Practitioner, and Trainee CAT Supervisor. He works with both adults and young people.
Scott is passionate about offering collaborative, trauma-informed, and neuro-affirming approaches for meaningful change. It is important to Scott that the people he works with feel heard, safe, and included in efforts to think about the origins of psychological challenge and news ways of responding to difficulty.
His approach aims to build a shared understanding with people, offering a new narrative about how helpful and unhelpful patterns came to be. With new understandings and a shared focus, Scott helps his clients to consider new and creative ways of being (with themselves and others) at a pace that is right for them.
Scott is trained in several approaches, including Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT), Eye-Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and emotion regulation. He often uses these models flexibly, guided by what clients are hoping for from psychological support.

What to Expect
The first few sessions will prioritise hearing about your hopes for therapy and building a shared understanding into how your experiences might have shaped your view about yourself, others, and the world, and the resulting survival strategies. This may include talking about your earlier years (if you are comfortable to do so) and looking at some questionnaires or further assessment tools.
After this, you can think together about what approaches might be most suitable to help you move towards your therapy goals. Scott will talk with you about how many sessions might be helpful, how often you will meet, and when you will review how useful the work is feeling.
Availability & Fees
Scott is available for face-to-face sessions in Taunton on Mondays and has limited availability for online, evening sessions.
- Fee: £120 per session (50-60 minute).
